This workshop is a bucket-list experience for a tapestry weaver. Maximo and his team are a well-oiled machine, dedicated to ensuring that every student has a successful learning experience.  

A full seven days of weaving, with one of the world's best weavers, in one of the most beautiful places on Earth, is a truly magical experience. I highly recommend this workshop to anyone and everyone who is interested in tapestry weaving. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced tapestry weaver, there's something here for you. I came home full of ideas and inspiration for future projects.

What a great workshop! I loved everything about it. There was so much material packed into each day, and having our looms and materials prepped ahead of time allowed us to immediately focus on the techniques in our samplers.

Máximo and his master weavers were immensely patient, knowledgeable and helpful, answering all our questions, showing us again and again, and getting us out of our messes with kindness. We worked hard but the workshop was well paced… so much so that we all finished our projects within a short time from each other.

If you really want to up your tapestry game and learn from a master, this is the workshop to take!

Tho not a tapestry weaver, I love everything fiber, color and texture.  I’ve admired Maximo Laura’s work for years and super excited to get into his May 2024 workshop in the Sacred Valley of Peru.

Maximo and his Team provided the most amazing experiential learning environment. For 10 days, I played with colorful yarn.  With patient guidance from instructors, I learned new techniques and created my first tapestry😊.

As a relatively novice tapestry weaver, I felt appropriately challenged but also satisfied with the level of teaching.  I learned a lot about new tapestry techniques and about how to combine and transition colors in the weft - something I so admire in Maximo's work.  

More than that, however, I learned a new way of looking at the world around me.  I started noticing flowers and landscapes in their luxurious gradations of color and texture, and that circled back to enhanced insight and empowerment.  An amazing experience!
